The Insight Group has recently formed a new company, Maphilindo-Insight Sdn Bhd ("MI"), in Malaysia.

MI is a joint venture between the shareholders of Maphilindo International Malaysia and Insight Singapore. This Pan-Malaysian landmark transaction combines the strengths of Asia's two leading home-grown practices for the benefit of their clients in view of the growing trade on both sides of the Causeway.

Maphilindo-Insight is primarily a marine specialist offering services as claims settling and recoveries agents relating to cargo, hull and machinery. It also provides ship valuation and expertise in certain commodities like palm oil and a wide range of marine consultancies. (For non-marine cases, there have already been a number of case referrals between Insight and Maphilindo for many years).

From 1 January 2005, MI has been appointed the new Lloyd's Agent for:-

- Port Klang, the main port in Malaysia
- The Kuala Lumpur region comprising the states of Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Pahang, Malacca and Johore
